Boudoir Photography Los Angeles | Mariah

Updated: Feb 10, 2021

While good looks are almost always alluring, a fantastic laugh and smile are even more inviting. Luckily for Mariah, she has both. I’m of the opinion that a great smile is undoubtedly one of the best assets to have, and I’m quite certain Mariah and I didn’t stop laughing throughout our entire boudoir photography Los Angeles session. Mariah’s infectious glee, positive attitude and willingness to try different things made our session fly by, and I was so happy to capture her vulnerability and giddiness.

Here’s a little from Mariah about her experience: “I decided to do the photoshoot because I was the overweight kid that everybody made fun of in junior high. I’ve since then lost over 30 pounds but for the longest time still saw myself as the chubby girl, the mental part still needed fixing. I have recently come into my own and I am learning to love my body a little more day by day. To do a boudoir photoshoot is to be vulnerable which is scary but I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come and I’m happy Karen was able to capture that!”

We started off with glamour headshots. The gorgeous flower crowns were the creation of Amanda of Terra Bella Florals.

Mariah’s natural inclination is towards her gorgeous smile, but that does not prevent her from pulling off mysterious sexiness without any problems!

The beautiful veil and headpiece added such a lovely feminine touch! (And yes, they are both available at the studio for your own boudoir session.)

While my Client Wardrobe is full of pieces for you to use during your session, I always suggest my clients bring with them a few different outfit options. I love that Mariah brought items that are not traditionally thought of as boudoir attire to her Boudoir photography Los Angeles photo session, like the shirt and socks above. I'm a fan of wearing what makes you feel sexy, whatever that may be!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the most important beholder in terms of our own beauty is ourselves. I am so fortunate to be able to photograph women like Mariah and to use my art as a medium to help illuminate to them the beauty I (and the world) see, so they can see it for themselves.
